Skincare is my passion so it has been great to revisit science-led cosmetics company, Dr Jackson's again over the last few months. They create sustainable, natural skincare products and organic herbal teas with a belief that beauty should be clean, safe and most importantly, effective. Their products combine meticulous research with the finest ingredients nature has to offer, protecting skin and enabling it to look its best.
The brand was launched in 2012 by way of Sub-Saharan Africa and London's Shoreditch after its founder pharmacognosist, Dr S. J. Jackson developed a particular interest in Kigelia, the “sausage tree” found in Sub-Saharan Africa. The fruit has long been revered by local tribes for its incredible medicinal properties. It was this that sparked his dream to establish a forward-thinking skincare brand based on natural remedies that have stood the test of time.
Its mission is to continue developing an innovative, ethical and sustainable company, working with like-minded people who strive to make a positive impact on our planet and inspire future generations. Their products really show that - the packaging is simple, there's a lot of glass and cupboard making it aesthetically pleasing and they really work too. I've dabbled in the brand in the past and really rated the 03 Everyday Oil so it was inevitable that I'd adore more of their products.
Let's talk through them...
This award-winning lightweight blend of 100% natural oils helps to effectively reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and blemishes while reducing the signs of ageing - it's a powerhouse product and you know how I love a facial oil. Suitable for acne-prone skin, calendula and arnica work to reduce redness and inflammations while Baobab seed oil is full of antioxidants. Lastly, Marula seed oil rejuvenates for a soft skin surface so you awaken with smooth skin and the perfect base to apply your morning skincare upon.
It smells beautiful, very natural and I find it gives an instant calming effect, my husband has been using it for shaving rash and it has made such a difference with that too.
I'm getting a lot of use out of body care at the moment, especially anything that soothes and tones the skin. This hydrating rich gel is a dream to use and while pricey, a little goes a long way. It's rich in antioxidants meaning skin is revitalised and smoothed while ingredients such as buckthorn kernel oil and bitter orange flower oil helps to minimize appearance of scars and stretch marks due to their restorative and rejuvenating properties.
There is also Baobab seed oil which is exceptionally nutrient rich and enhances skin firmness, while Kigelia extract promotes skin elasticity. Lastly, aloe leaf juice provides hydration and calms the skin making it excellant to use after a work out or a little too much sunshine.
The formula is ultra light, melting into skin without leaving a tacky feeling - something I cannot stand! It's a brilliant product and so hydrating, I just can't get enough of it right now.
The last product is the smoothest, dreamiest night cream you'll ever use! Available in two sizes, this award-winning moisturiser is deeply nourishing, rich and gives the skin such an intense burst of hydration meaning you'll wake with smoother, softer and happier skin each morning.
The cream is lusciously thick yet melts into the skin beautifully! 02 Night Cream contains kigelia fruit extracts to help regenerate skin, Baobab seed oil to diminish the look of fine lines and frankincense resin oil to calm, soothe and strengthen.
It's the powerhouse night cream you never knew you needed. A couple of drops of 03 Everyday Oil after applying the night cream is the dream nighttime duo.
Clean beauty has never been easier. You can purchase Dr Jackson's direct from their website - drjacksonskincare.com and I've also linked above the products I have been using.
The face wash is next on my list to try from the brand. What would you try first?
