When it comes to premium bath products, Olverum has always been pretty high up there for me. Their luxurious bath oil is one of my ultimate treats and in recent weeks I've been using the Restful Sleep Pillow Mist (£25.00) too. Much to my delight, the new year has seen two new products introduced by the brand and while I've been spending most of the last four weeks getting to grips with them, it was about time I shared my thoughts.
The story of Olverum is quite unique and absolutely worth the read via their About Us page. In short, Olverum's story begins in the 1920s. For many years the brand survived by word of mouth, a cult product known only to a small number of passionate fans and it was due to a chance discovery by Michael Hawksley that it even found its way to the UK.
The winter months can play havoc with my skin making it look dull, dry and pale so I love using a body polish once a week to combat that. Just launched, the Olverum Body Polish (£38.00) is the product I can't stop using! Suitable for all skin types, the unique soufflĂ©-feel dual-action exfoliator is designed to buff skin softly but effectively providing deep nourishment and brighter skin.
The vegan and cruelty-free polish is housed in a luxurious glass pot and has that familiar Olverum scent, however, I found it not as strong as their oils. The easy to apply body polish uses natural papaya enzyme to help gently dissolve dead skin, purifying clay to lift and rid impurities, and mechanical exfoliants such as bamboo and pumice to polish the skin to an irresistible satin finish.
Just apply, work into the skin and wash off with warm water - my arms have never felt so soft.
After giving skin a luxurious polish then it's time to inject moisture back in and the Olverum Firming Body Oil (£44.00) is a dream to use! We're big oil fans around these parts and this particular one has been such a treat for the skin.
Suitable for all skin times, the oil contains a blend of 11 active botanical extracts, enzymes and oils. Grapefruit and black pepper extracts aim to sculpt the body, while algae extract helps to support the skin's natural collagen. Papaya enzyme works to smooth the skin, paracress flower extract helps to tighten and sweet orange essential oil provides an energising and uplifting scent.
While I haven't noticed a huge difference in sculpting, my skin does feel smoother and brighter.
And the smell? GLORIOUS!
