When it comes to fun activities to do at home with the little one, our go-to always seems to fall to something baking related. He really enjoys getting to grips with different ingredients and seeing what they can become while we enjoy eating the result so it's a win-win.
With the sun shining we turned our hands to making ice lollies especially as we had a little bundle of Liewood products arrive from Sisi & Seb, a Hampshire based children's shop.
The Liewood Manfred Ice Pops (£26.00) are a summertime favourite and we personally love them - they're cute, they're sustainable and they make the sweetest ice pops shaped like cute animals or cool dinos. We also have the Liewood Eddie Silicone Bowls (£23.00) which you'll notice in the photos, they were super handy for keeping our ingredients in for our ice lollies!
We made mango and pineapple ice lollies and they were super easy to make. We used our Thermomix but you could also make them in a blender, anything that'll easily crush frozen fruit to a smooth consistency.
You'll need:
80g honey
60g oat milk/milk
100g Greek yoghurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
240g frozen mango
240g frozen pineapple
Method:
Mix the honey, oat milk, Greek yog and vanilla extract together then leave in a bowl
Add frozen mango and pineapple and blitz in a blender (we used our @thermomixukandireland!)
Once the fruit is smooth, add your yoghurt/milk/honey mix and blend again
Once mixed together and smooth, spoon into the moulds and put in the freezer until set!
They're cute right?
They went down a storm with our little one and the adults loved them too - we'll have to try a different flavour next time. So easy to use, simple to clean and they store easily because they're flat too.
Cute animals or dinos - what would you choose?
