Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow Palette

I've had my eye on the Bobbi Brown Christmas Collection since it launched so when Black Friday rolled around and they whacked a nice 30% off on I finally snapped up the Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette from the collection.

The limited-edition beauty collection is inspired by the energy of dance and the holidays in New York City with each product adorned with beautiful watercolour art by Cecilia Carlstedt. Cecilia has been working as a full-time illustrator since 2003 and has a recognisable flair to her work. She's worked with a wide number of clients within the fashion world so the Bobbi Brown Christmas Collection is a perfect fit.

The must-have palette features eight super-soft eye shadows, a mixture of matte and shimmers in rich coppers, radiant golds and warm mattes. I bought Golden Slipper (£36.50) to replace one that had seen better days and definitely needed chucking out and I am SO pleased with it. I haven't tried much from Bobbi Brown for eyes, I tend to stick with the Sparkle Sticks as they're a breeze to use when you want to add a little touch of colour to eyes but I'm so glad I bit the bullet with Golden Slipper.

For my everyday makeup, I always reach for a neutral palette like this as it's so easy to wear with just the right amount of mattes and shimmers. Having a crease shade, highlight shade and something to sweep in the corners for a touch of shimmer is a must for me and you really can't go wrong with this beauty.

The Shades
Pale Cream - Matte
Gold Barre - Chrome Metal Shimmer
Burnished Maple - Chrome Metal Shimer
Dawn Haze - Matte
Palm Desert - Matte
Cocoa - Matte
Slow Burn - Sparkle Shimmer
Modern Mocha - Matte

I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to try Bobbi Brown eyeshadows, I think it's because I've always viewed the brand as "older" and my twenties were full of Urban Decay and MAC Cosmetics. Either way, my makeup tastes have grown as I have and I'm really impressed.

The formula is so soft yet with little to no fallout and as you pat it on to eyes the colour just holds so well - it's super easy to blend too which makes applying my makeup a dream when I have the time to do it in the morning.

Can you tell I really love it?

If you're looking for a palette that you want to reach for daily, Golden Slipper is it - the easy-to-wear shades, buttery soft formulas and incredible pigmentation just make it such a sure-fire hit. You'll have to be quick though as it has already sold out a few times since it launched!

I think it's safe to say I'll be looking at Bobbi Brown a lot more closely going forward...
