When it comes to hair, I take as much care as possible. Gone are the days of picking up whatever was on offer, I prefer to invest a little more in what I use and Kérastase is a brand I've used for quite a number of years. The Aura Botanica collection is one of my favourites but with hair fallout still a concern of mine since having a child, the Genesis collection couldn't be more perfect for me. Genesis is the dual anti-fall action haircare I've been waiting for, it aims to reduce hair fall out due to breakage, create more fibre strength and resilience while nourishing from root to tip.
There are six products within the range, four of which I have been using since January so it seems high time I give you my thoughts.
I love a shampoo that lathers well and makes my hair feel exceptionally clean and the Kérastase Genesis Anti Hair-Fall Fortifying Shampoo (£23.90) is brilliant for that. The Kérastase Genesis Fondant Reinforcatuer Conditioner (£27.50) is to be used alongside the shampoo, it helps to target two key causes of hair fall out - stress on the fibres or scalp and fall out from breakage. The entire collection is enriched with Edelweiss Native Cells, Ginger Root & Aquaxyl which helps to gently clarify hair and reinforce fibre to help reduce hair fall out due to breakage.
Edelweiss Native Cells, a plant famous for surviving in the harshest climates is the wonder ingredient in this range which helps to strengthen your hair follicles. The second ingredient is Ginger Root, a powerful antioxidant that aims to protect your strands against environmental aggressors, such as pollution and heat damage, which can cause hair to fall out. Lastly, is Aminexil which helps contribute to better hair health, reinforcing its natural resistance to hair fall out.
I love the way the shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel, it's softer, more manageable and I've definitely noticed a change in my hair and the number of strands left behind in the shower too!
As well as your shampoo and conditioner, there are also four serums and treatments within the range. The Kérastase Genesis Serum Anti-Chute Fortifiant (£49.00) helps to increase resilience in weakened, lack-lustre strands, giving the illusion of a fuller, healthy-looking head of hair. It's advised to use this daily with the fusion of Edelweiss Native Cells, Ginger Root and Aminexil helping to fight dryness and improve fibre resistance. I really love this product, I'm a big fan of Kérastase treatments as they do wonders for my hair and this one is no different. The dropper is also great for getting just the right amount of product so as not to use too much in hair and weigh it down.
The final product that has slipped right into my haircare routine is the Kérastase Genesis Defense Thermique Treatment (£25.90). I'm pretty good with not using heat products, I rarely use a hairdryer or hair straighteners but I still like to use something to protect my hair and this has been fab. The treatment is a protective, nourishing product that locks in that enviable healthy appearance. Whether hair is weak or falls out easily, the treatment means blow-drying causes less damage thanks to its protective heat shield.
I've found my hair is much more manageable since using it, there are fewer tangles and brushing is much easier. It's a fab little product!
The Kérastase Genesis range is available in department stores and online now so you're closer to fabulous hair than you think. It would be such a brilliant range if you're suffering from post-partum hair-loss too!
