As the world falls into further despair I've been finding solace in my beauty room and with a handful of new products to test and play with, there's never been a better time for lockdown. It's given me the chance to really go through what I'm using on my skin, swap out some products for some new releases and of course give everything in this post a test run before I can give you the lowdown.
I have skincare, haircare and some makeup pieces to show you all of which are available to order online now. Shopping in your pyjamas has never been so on-trend!
I've seen Wake Skincare circulating around Instagram for some time but have only recently tried the brand myself. They're a start-up brand that aims to be there for generation connected, the ones that are attached to their phones or stuck in front of a screen. They're about natural skincare with less packaging designed to battle dark circles and keep our skin feeling fabulous.
The first thing that drew me in was the understated packaging, I love how minimalistic and sleek it is and with just three products available, the work has really gone into fine-tuning them. The Wake Skincare Face Cream (£19.95) targets fine lines, helps reduce blemishes and it has a gorgeously light texture that seems to melt into skin. It's simple but effective and it's been great as a day cream recently.
The second product I've been using is the Wake Skincare Eye Gel (£16.95) which has shot into my top spot as it just feels so soothing on eyes. The light gel helps to combat dark circles, hydrates the eye area and contains vitamins and antioxidants to help reduce the signs of ageing.
You only need half a pump so this little guy is gonna last me for ages.
OGX are one of those high street haircare brands that just nail it every single time. They have such a wide range of products suitable for every hair complaint imaginable so I was super intrigued by their latest product, Apple Cider Vinegar which as we all know is a miracle treatment for hair.
The new Clarify & Shine+ Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo (£7.99) gently clarifies to help eliminate residue and build-up while the uplifting blend helps to balance the scalp, remove unwanted oil and leave hair super clean and shiny. The conditioner (£7.99) helps to gently condition, smooth and detangle hair for the most irresistible tresses ever. Apple Cider Vinegar is such an age-old hair staple that it's great to see if brought to life this way.
With the start of Spring comes a new fragrance from French natural beauty experts L'Occitane - this year they're celebrating a flower found in Provence, the white clover. It encapsulates the essence of softness and strength delivering the scent of flowers paired with wild grasses. It's a beautiful collection and one that would make a gorgeous gift for any mums to be due a Spring baby.
The Herbae Shower Gel (£16.50) has been exactly what I needed to put my best foot forward each morning. In a beautifully intricate bottle adorned with green and pink. the shower gel reveals the exquisitely fresh notes of white clover - it's delicately fragranced which lingers on skin throughout the day. I'm a huge fan of L'Occitane shower gels as they're so soft against skin and lather so well.
I've also been using the Herbae Perfumed Soap (£6.00) - we switched to soap bars last year in a bid to combat waste so this free from palm oil soap is the perfect addition to our bathroom. It helps to gently cleanse the skin leaving the soft, delicate fragrance of Herbae par L'Occitan L'Eau.
Clarins Lip Comfort Oil Intense
The next new in product is from Clarins and they're one of my all-time favourites from the brand. The Lip Comfort Oils are a cult classic and at the end of this month, their newest version is being released. The Lip Comfort Oil Intense (£19.00) is a limited-edition collection featuring five new ultra-pigmented mirror-effect shades.
Experience the richness of an oil with the comfort of lip care and the added creamy texture of five subtle shades. The product features a powerful trio of ultra-nourishing plant oils - organic hazelnut, organic jojoba, and now, organic cranberry to nourish, comfort and soften lips. They've also been enhanced with the Clarins Anti-Pollution Complex to help protect against the harmful effects of the environment. Thanks to the intense colour pigments, the new Lip Comfort Oil Intense formula tints and infuses lips for a bold, ultra-glossy effect.
I have Nude and it gives such a gorgeous but subtle finish to lips even if you're just wearing it around the house.
The very last product I have to show you is one I've been very excited about and I've enjoyed slathering this all over my face the last month because it is brilliant. The Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream (£43.00) contains skin-loving, anti-ageing properties, helping you to wake up with more beautiful, younger-looking skin. The moisturiser works overnight when skin cell turnover peaks, helping to improve surface cell renewal through exfoliation.
Featuring Rest & Restore Technology, Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep works to visibly improve signs of ageing skin including fine lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness, helping your skin to feel hydrated, smooth and supple - it's really quite special and I've really noticed a difference around my mouth. Now if there could also be a night eye cream...
I've linked everything above if you want to shop some bits for yourself, it's a great round-up this month and everything has slotted in rather well.
The It Cosmetics sleep cream is definitely the apple of my eye though!
