Gone are the days of wiping some foundation on my face with my hands, teenage Alice didn't have a clue. Thankfully in later years, I've found my way around my face with a makeup brush and oh am I glad.
I had quite a lot of old brushes that needed replacing at the end of 2019 so it was out with the old and in with Kit Stars Professional Makeup brushes. Kit Stars are high-end professional makeup brushes without that hefty price tag and they're bloody brilliant. So... I'm going to share what I've been using and a little more on the brand because you're definitely going to want to check them out.
The brushes are handmade and designed by master crafters to ensure shape, movement and makeup texture so you're left with the best finish possible. The ferrules are made from solid copper then layered with gold plate giving you super strong brushes that last through application upon application. This also means the weight of the brush is just perfect enough to allow you to get the finish you desire.
The wooden handles are coated with glossy black lacquer making them ultra sleek.
There are seventeen Kit Star brushes available each created with natural blended fibres containing high-grade goat hair. There are also eight vegan brushes available made from super soft vegan hair for those not wanting a natural fibre brush.
The Base Polisher Brush S4 (£11.00) has been my go-to for base products. It polishes your base into skin so effortlessly and leaves such a perfect finish. It's brilliant for cream, liquid and powder foundation. Once I've done my foundation base, I've been reaching for the Powder Brush N1 (£15.00) to apply my setting powder, the large brush is so soft and picks up loose powder so well, I just dust over my skin.
The eye brushes are really lovely too. The Tapered Blender N31 (£7.00), Shader Brush N32 (£7.00) and Micro Pencil Brush N33 (£6.00) have been brilliant for precision and definition when it has come to create my favourite eye looks.
Overall, having used Kit Stars for the last couple of months, I've been super impressed at how they perform. They apply my makeup flawlessly, they don't shed as much as I thought they would and they wash really, really well which is a relief because it's something I hate doing.
You can purchase Kit Stars direct from www.kitstars.com as single brushes or as sets but if there is one you really must try, it's the Base Polished Brush S4 - it's the standout for me.
