Three Coffee Houses to try in Southampton

Two things I'm quite knowledgeable on are coffee and Southampton so it seemed only right to share my favourite independent coffee houses in my home city. We're quite lucky in Southampton in that we have an abundance of coffee houses, restaurants and bars so it would be quite difficult not to find something you love. There always seems to be something new opening too which makes hunting somewhere down for Saturday brunch has never been easier.

As with anything in life, I have some favourites and so this post will be focusing on three of my favourite coffee houses in the city centre which makes them the perfect location for hoping off a cruise or a break while shopping.

I've been visiting Coffee Lab since they opened and now we have two locations in Southampton to choose from! Coffee Lab first opened in Winchester in 2016 and they've since expanded to nine separate sites, they're all about bringing specialty coffee to the masses served by talented and highly trained coffee specialists

Not only do they serve great coffee but they also have an impressive brunch and light bites menu with everything made on site as well as plenty of sweet treats. Coffee Lab make the BEST brownies in an array of flavours as well as a number of vegan delights to choose from. My fave? A Hoxton Bakehouse Cinnamon bun as you all know.

This really is one to add to your must visit list.

I have a long standing love of Mettricks, it's where Arran and I would always go for coffee and cake on a Saturday, we held our engagement party in Mettricks Old Town and it's the first place we took Joshua. The best bit? The coffee is fab and the cakes are even better.

I've always loved the atmosphere of Mettricks and the staff have always been friendly, it's just a really great place to go with friends or on your own with a book.

If you really want the full Mettricks experience ask what their lead barista would recommend, you'll be in for a treat!

This place is a vegan gem! It's the go to place for nutritious and delicious food. Their entire menu is plant based with lots of non gluten and soya free options, from rich vegan brownies to creamy dairy free milkshakes, you're bound to fall in love with Cafe Thrive.

The coconut lattes are my absolute favourite thing to order , I'm yet to try the food as I always grab a coffee and go but their reviews are incredible and we've added it as our next place to try for a vegan lunch with Joshua.

Where are you favourite places to grab coffee in Southampton?
