MAC Cosmetics Look in a Box Be Sensational

MAC Cosmetics lipsticks have been my jam for years now, I bought my first lipstick when I was fourteen when they were only £10.50 and the love continues all these years later. I have quite the collection and some firm favourites so even I was surprised to discover that I didn't own a single one of the shades in the MAC Cosmetics Look in a Box Be Sensational, exclusively available from World Duty Free.

There's some killer shades inside...

The Look In A Box Collections (£35.00) are the perfect way to discover a handful of shades in a set of complimenting hues. The sets are available for lips and eyes with each featuring five different shades in a mix of MAC Cosmetics best selling colours. Whether you're a complete newbie or just want to add to your lip shade drawer, this is a great way to do it especially as you get a decent amount of product.

I've got my little mitts on the Be Sensational collection which is a mix of matte and amplified finishes in an array of nudes and pinks with one classic red. This set actually features two shades I have been dying to get my hands on so I practically ripped the box open and started swatching.

Inside the box
Velvet Teddy - matte deep-tone beige
High Society - matte dusty coral
Russian Red - matte blueish-red
Nouvelle Vogue - matte soft blue pink
Scene Stirrer - amplified creme rich pink rose

Velvet Teddy and Russian Red are two legendary shades, both of which I have never tried until now. I've always been a Ruby Woo girl, I always felt like you were one or the other but I was so wrong because Russian Red is beautiful! Velvet Teddy also surprised me, I didn't jump on the hype with everyone else because I wasn't that wowed by it in the bullet but it leaves a soft muted brown on my lips which I love. It seems Velvet Teddy works so many different ways for different people and I now get why it is so universally loved.

Totally kicking myself that I waited this long.

The other three shades are also total newbies for me and also shades I'd never heard of before.

And I call myself a lipstick addict?!

High Society is probably my favourite of the bunch thanks to its dusty coral tones, whereas Nouvelle Vogue & Scene Stirrer are two I wouldn't reach for as much because I don't think muted pinks suit me. They're beautiful shades just not quite my cup of tea.

I think the Look in a Box sets are such a fab way to try MAC Cosmetics and they'd make the perfect gift too, I think I'll be keeping an eye out to see what the next collections will be, any excuse!
