Five of My Fail Safe Products for New Mums

There is nothing that can prepare you for motherhood, the last few weeks have flown by but recovering from surgery has meant I've really had to make some time for myself. Thankfully, I've had the support from Arran and my family to do just that and I've found five products that I wouldn't be without during this time.

Here are five products I've sworn by since becoming a mum...

I'm allergic to lanolin and trying to find a nipple cream that didn't contain it proved almost impossible until I came across Kit & Kin. I stumbled across them on Instagram and after an email full of questions to make sure I could use the product and the loveliest response, I placed my order. My breastfeeding journey didn't last as long as I would've liked it but this has still been so very needed. The balm contains a blend of nourishing oils and botanical extracts such as rosemary, coconut, flaxseed and ginseng which help cools, heals and protects nipples, it's been my lifesaver!

I've mentioned Sleepy in posts before and I'm not sure it really helps me sleep but as I only use it at night I only associate the scent with sleep now. Its dreamy scent of lavender and tonka completely relaxes me and leaves my skin feeling super soft so it's something I've been making the most of in recent weeks, even if it is just for a half hour nap between nappy changes. I'm on my second pot now and it's not something I'll be forgetting to buy in a hurry.

Another relaxation aid, Spacemasks really help me switch off and with my latest box of five landing in my hands, I've even let Arran try one. Spacemasks are self heating eye masks that help alleviate the strain on your eyes, helping tiredness and tension. You just place onto your eyes and lay back. The heating process works by having a thin layer of iron filings entwining with oxygen molecules in the air to sooth eyes while the scent of jasmine helps create a relaxing ambience. They're so handy to have in your bedside table when your eyes and mind need twenty minutes peace.

I've been using Decleor skincare for years but I've never looked into their body care before. I received the Decleor Aroma Cleanse toning bath and shower gel in the last QVC special offer gift set and fell head over heels for it. The toning gel smells so incredibly relaxing that I would find myself stood in the shower for ages, massaging it into my bump, pre-baby. The scent of lavender, lemon and seaweed has such a relaxing power over me that I'm gonna have to repurchase immediately. A soothing shower gel is definitely something I feel is a new mum must have!

I don't need to explain this one too much, I've spoken about my hate of washing my hair many times before so you can imagine it's ended up even lower down my list of priorities with a newborn. Batiste has always been and probably always will be my fave dry shampoo to help me push that extra day.
