Yoga in the Park with Parklives

*Sponsored post*

Yoga is something I've wanted to try for the longest time, especially since I fell pregnant because I'm going to need all the inner strength to get this melon shaped human out. International Yoga Day seemed as good a day as any to start so Emily and I headed down to Mayflower Park for a sunlit session of yoga and relaxation with Parklives Southampton.

Summer is the perfect time to get outside with friends and family to enjoy the weather and one way I'll be doing this, this summer is by attending ParkLives, a programme from Coca Cola Great Britain. ParkLives is now in its second year in Southampton in partnership with Southampton Council and Active Nation. Throughout the summer you can participate in fun and free activities in the beautifully kept and well known Southampton Parks. Joining Parklives is easy, you just head over to www.parklives.com and enter your post code. This will then bring up all the local activities taking place.

There were around ten of us for last Wednesday's yoga session, thankfully the sun was cooling and there was a lovely breeze in the air which made the session easier than I thought it would be. The sessions are aimed towards beginners or those that have just started out so they really are great to join whatever stage of yoga you are at.

Emily and I were complete beginners and being pregnant made some moves a little harder but the session leader, Jeeneen came over to give me more comfortable moves to do during the ones I couldn't so I wasn't left out which really helped my confidence and allowed me to enjoy it so much more.

The sessions take place in Mayflower Park, Southampton every Wednesday between 6-7pm and they're completely free! We're heading back again next week to give the session another go. If yoga isn't your thing, then there is plenty more to choose from on the website to get your blood pumping. It's the perfect way to experience something new this summer.
