I've always been a reader and although I bought a Kindle last year there is still nothing better than holding a book in my opinion. I always have a quick look in Waterstones when I'm near but on this occasion, I desperately needed to pee then walked out with all of this. I had a £10 off card in my bag too so that softened the blow a little...
I'm rapidly building my to-read pile for when I'm on maternity and this is the start of the collection. I also have The Essex Serpent to add to the pile. I will pick up most things when it comes to reading unless it's anything to do with horror as I like my sleep and I'm a total scaredy-cat. It was Bridget Jone's Baby I spied first for half price. I loved the books by Helen Fielding when they first came out so I had to have this too.
Next up is The Last Piece of my Heart by Paige Toon, I've never read anything by this author before but have seen it a lot on social media recently so thought it was worth a read alongside Jill Mansell's Meet Me at Beachcombe Bay. You can't go wrong with chick lit every now and then.
The one I've picked up to read first is Not Working by Lisa Owens, it promises to be a laugh out loud tale of a late twenty-something that has quit her job. I'm only a few pages in so far and haven't got into it yet so hoping it picks up soon. The last book is The Girls by Emma Cline, inspired by the chilling story of Charles Manson. I've wanted to read this for a while but it was one that I just never ended up buying. Waterstones, buy one get one half price changed this and I'm finally going to get reading it.
What have you been reading lately? I'd love some recommendations.
