I've always been a firm believer that you should pay more for a decent foundation. The base is what sets everything together after all and if the base is rubbish, the rest won't work. There is one highstreet foundation I swear by, Seventeen Stay Time but I've recently been trying out Selfie Ready from Lottie London which is just £6.95, the same price as my beloved Stay Time. Read on to see what I thought.
I've always been a liquid foundation girl so Selfie Ready was already something I'd use. The foundation is medium coverage and aims to deliver a matte finish. It's water based and enriched with vitamin c making it great for covering blemishes and evening out skin tones while still staying light weight. I've been trialling the foundation through the day and I have mixed thoughts.
Selfie Ready Matte Foundation is available in ten shades and I've been using Ivory which is a pretty good match for me. Shades are usually something I struggle with, with cheaper foundations. The packaging is quite sleek, and in Lottie London's colours of white and black but it does mean you won't know when you're due to run out. The screw top makes using the foundation a lot less messy though.
I've found the best way to apply the foundation is with a brush, my beauty blender just didn't give the same finish. A little goes a long way so a pea sized amount is ideal for a full face. Selfie Ready applied well but did gather in lines after a while and I noticed some oxidising on my chin but my skin is very dry at the moment due to my pregnancy so that may have something to do with it, it didn't make me feel very selfie ready though.
For a cheap foundation, Selfie Ready is okay but not something I'd reach for if I needed something particularly long wearing. If I'm looking for just a medium coverage for dashing out shopping or brunch with the girls, it's great for the price. Would I buy it again? Probably not.
