First Impressions - Aveda Hair Care

I've become much better with my hair care routine in recent years and I have a number of products I rely on to keep my hair looking partially acceptable. Aveda have been around since 1978, using the art and science of pure flower and plant essences within their products. Their plant based products and natural aromas help nourish hair when it really needs it most and they have a range of products available for every hair complaint imaginable.

My hair has felt very dry recently with all my hormone changes so I've been testing some products that aim to help as well as a dry shampoo which is one of my favourite hair products, sometimes I just want to go that extra day ya know? I have noticed a huge difference in the feel and texture of my hair and having not been one for plant based products previously, I can totally see why there is such a market for them. Find out more about the products I've been testing below:

I'm a huge oil fan when it comes to beauty routines but I haven't had one for my hair in ages. The Dry Remedy Moisturising Oil is a daily leave in treatment which helps to leave hair feeling soft and shiny while controlling frizz and flyaways. The moisturising treatment helps inject some life back into hair which is exactly what I needed. I've used this almost daily for the last few weeks and the ends of my hair are looking so much healthier, the oil also smells beautiful which lingers in my hair which I love. I can see this 30ml bottle of oil lasting me for a long time as you just need a couple of drops. Using a little also means there is less risk of greasy hair, just shiny, moisturised loveliness.

Another daily repair product, this one aims to help by repairing strands for stronger, longer hair. It also works great as a heat styling product to help protect against further damage. The certified organically-derived quinoa protein penetrates hair to instantly repair damage and strengthen from the inside out leaving hair in much better condition. The scent is just as incredible as the oil with essential oils including bergamot, mandarin and ylang ylang. I use just a small amount on damp hair after washing and before blow drying. I've used this as a twice weekly treatment more than a daily treatment because who has the time for daily hair washing? It's the first time in a while I've noticed a product really work and I'll be keeping this in my hair product cupboard for the foreseeable future.

Ah dry shampoo, the true love of my life. It's not often I step away from Bastiste but I have used this since it landed in my lazy hands. Expensive for a dry shampoo but oh so worth it. The non-aerosol powder mist absorbs excess oil between shampoo with a calming aroma of twenty five pure flower and plant essences which instantly revives hair. It doesn't leave hair powdery or tacky which I hate with dry shampoo products and it has an uplifting scent which is great if you're pushing your luck with those hair washing days. It's taken pride of place on my dresser which is saying something from an avid dry shampooer like myself.

Aveda have well and truly impressed me with their products and ethos, so much so, I've recently visited my local counter to see what else is on offer. Total Aveda fan over here now. I'd love to know if you've ever used their products before!
