Kat Von D... This has been a long time coming and with the launch of the famed beauty range launching on our side of the Atlantic in October, it was only right I bought something to try when I was in London recently. Fast forward two months later and I have four more shades to show you. This is a long one but you'll enjoy it, trust me.
I shared the two shades I bought first back in November - Bow n Arrow & Exorcism and since Christmas and my birthday has been and gone, I've been able to add another four shades to the ol' collection. When falling in love with a lipstick formula, I like my shades to be quite varied so I have some nudes, a pink, two reds and two beautiful vampy shades.
The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula has fast become a favourite and more often than not, that is what will be on my lips. I've lost count how many times I've been asked what I'm wearing in my Twitter profile photo and it's one of these beauties, Exorcism to be precise. I find the doe foot applicator a dream to use although you need to work quick as this stuff dries fast. The tubes are long and slim making storage easy and they take up no space whatsoever in your bag.
My sister and my fave blogging girls bought my latest shades and then I treated myself to a hot red with my Debenhams beauty points. Kat Von D then announced 25 new shades which will be dropping throughout this year and I already have seven on my list to buy. Can you tell I love 'em?
All the shades I have are swatched above on my arm and are as follows:
Bow n Arrow
This is a beautiful fawn brown shade. This is the last colour I would usually go for but as soon as I swatched it, I needed it. I tend to use this as an everyday shade and always keep it in my bag. It applies beautifully but doesn't last as long as some of the darker shades. If you're into your nudes and browns then this is one to add to the collection.
Double Dare
I really wasn't sure on this shade at first because it's a warm coral and I'm not a pinky coral fan but my sister bought this for herself and I obviously tried it on. Fast forward to me opening this on Christmas day and falling in love with its pinky hues. I already know this is going to be my go to Spring shade.
Nosferatu
If I had to choose my fail safe lip shade and I had a gun to my head it would always be a red. Nosferatu is described as a blood crimson, a deep medium red which looks fabulous on cool toned gals. This applies perfectly although you do need a few coats for a full opaque finish but once it's on, it's on. This shade makes me feel like I can take on anything.
Santa Sangre
I bought this shade purely because it has orange undertones and I LOVE a red orange based lip shade. It's described as a poison apple red but I don't see that at all. When I think poison apple, I think of the beautiful red one in Snow White whereas this is a beautiful orange babe. It's popping, sexy and incredibly gorgeous.
Exorcism
This is my favourite one of all. I love really dark, severe lip shades and this ticks all the boxes. If I need my game face on, I wear Exorcism. Described as a deep blackberry, it's more a burgundy with a seductive undertone. I also get so many compliments when I wear this shade so that is testament enough for me. It does start to look a bit crap after six hours of wear but with a quick tidy up and re-application it looks good as new again, if you can be bothered that is.
Vampira
Described as a black cherry, Vampira is Exorcism's darker sister. I struggle with this the same way I struggle with Nosferatu, I can only get an opaque colour after a few coats but once it's on, it looks incredible if I do say so myself. This also wears like Exorcism, you get six hours of wear before needing a tidy up but I really don't mind. If a lip formula allows me to drink multiple coffees and stuff my face with food without smudging on to my chin, I will proclaim my undying love to them.
So there you have it, my full Everlasting Liquid Lipstick collection and you can bet as soon as the new shades drop I'll be updating this bad boy.
Have you tried these liquid lips before? Whatcha think?
