Seeing as last month's In My Mailbox went down so well I thought I'd do another one. I really love watching unboxings on Snapchat and Youtube and seeing as I don't have a channel, I'm giving you a blog post instead. I do unbox all my parcels on Snapchat (Alicea89) so make sure you're following me there too. This isn't me showing off, I want this to be more like a quick, informative post so please do let me know your thoughts in the comments. I've received everything in this post the last couple of weeks so stay put and grab a cuppa...
I'm always painting my nails so with it finally being Autumn I needed to add some new shades to my ever growing collection. I chose five shades from Annika Nails, Cafe Au Lait, Pool Party, Clean Slate, Natural Beauty and Shadow Grey. There are thirty shades to choose from in total and there is something for everyone. Each of the shades are vibrant and of high quality, as well as being Formaldehyde, Toluene and Phthalate free. Each deliver a long wear, durable shade with a smooth gloss finish. I needed three coats to get a fully opaque shade but they applied perfectly and dried in seconds, they also last four - five days before chipping.
Love Me Beauty September Edit
This months theme is The Sundown Edit featuring products to transition from Summer to Autumn. The main show for me was definitely the Kat Von D minis as I've never tried any of her products before. I now have the Life Proof lipstick in Outlaw, Ink Liner and Studded Kiss in Magick to keep in my makeup stash. There were also minis from Omorovicza and Aromatherapy Associates to keep skin looking its very best. If you're yet to discover Love Me Beauty head over to their website where you can sign up, enter your specific details and find an Aladdin's cave of beauty.
Purple Butterfly Hanae Mori Parfums
My love of perfume comes from my mother and I have an extensive collection of varying scents. I always remember stealing squirts of her expensive perfumes when I shouldn't of been going through her beauty cupboards when I was younger. Hanae Mori create exquisite scents with their latest perfume being Purple Butterfly, a mix of Iris, Violet, Rose Buttons and essence of Patchouli. The perfume comes in a beautiful, tall bottle with the lid decorated like a rose. Available from September 2016, the perfume would make such a stunning gift to someone close to you.
I sometimes get a really irritated scalp and the one thing that always seems to help is sea salt so this scrub was practically made for me. The Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub is designed to cleanse and sooth sensitive or oily scalps while giving extra hydration to skin. It's paraben, silicone and colourant free and the formula, sea salt helps eliminate impurities. The paste also smells extremely fresh and revitalising. After use, your scalp is left soothed and re-balanced while hair is silky and shiny. It's a miracle tub and I wish I'd discovered this years ago.
I use multiple brushes to apply different products so I'm always on the look out for new brushes. Ecotools are a firm favourite with my sister but they're not a brand I've used much so the Ecotools Six Piece Starter Set is a welcome addition. It comes with a concealer brush, blush brush, eye shading brush, angled eyeliner brush and lash & brow groomer. There's also a handy little pouch to keep them in for travelling. They're a great beginners set and a favourite with many. All their brushes cruelty free and the packaging is 100% tree-free paper and 100% recyclable made from 80% bamboo and 20% cotton fiber. I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with these.
