Autumn Home Refresh

If there is one thing I love doing with each passing season, it's giving our home a quick refresh. I'm a huge Homesense fan because they stock a wide variety of one off pieces that give your home a sense of uniqueness so it's always my first place to shop. When it comes to Autumn, my top priority is making our home as cosy as possible with lots of blankets, throws and of course candles. Pinterest is the perfect place to browse inspiration and that's exactly what I did before I went off to my local mega store in Southampton.

I like heading to Homesense in the evenings as it almost feels like the whole store is yours so after grabbing a trolley because I was definitely going to need one, I headed straight to the candles after finding a Jasper Conran one in their main display for just £7.99. I ended up buying a Jasper Conran candle in Orange Blossom and another in Fig. They're both in frosted glass tumblers and a pain to photograph but the scent is so long lasting and have hours of burning time. The third candle I bought was one I've burnt before and love. The N.16 Musk & Tobacco candle is not to everyone's taste but it's warming, masculine scent creates such a cosy ambience. N.16 do so many scents, I can't wait to try more from them.

My next mission was to create the perfect space for evenings watching box sets with the mister so the Homesense furnishing section was riffled through. I found the pair of black and white feather cushions in the reduced section and knew they'd go perfectly with our style. Both the cushions are large, super squishy and fit perfectly in my colour scheme of white, charcoal and grey. I already had the charcoal throw from Ikea and knew I wanted something mismatched and the chevron stripe throw jumped out at me. It's so soft with white tassels and definitely fits in well.

We all know Homesense is the place to go for quirky storage boxes and I needed two, one to store toilet rolls in as our metal storage unit was losing its shine and another to keep all our wires and chargers in. The green chevron style box for the bathroom fits perfectly in the space I intended for it and the cream box for our cables was also a great fit for underneath our side table. I cannot tell you how relieved I am to not see the wires anymore. My final find was the gorgeous copper and glass hexagon plate. I bought this originally as a blogging prop but it is now being used to keep any remote controls in to tidy the coffee table up. I'm pretty happy with my homeware haul, their products are always such great value too. I can't wait to visit the Christmas shop next month!
