New In - Jay Manuel Beauty

Remember the good old days of classic America's Next Top Model with the original queen, Tyra Banks and the ever faithful Jay Manuel? Those were the days! So you can imagine my excitement when I heard on the beauty-vine that Jay Manuel was launching his very own beauty line available in the UK via QVC. Jay Manuel Beauty launched this September, I've been trying out some of the high performance, photo finish products to see what they're really like.

With sleek packaging and professional standard products, the line features items for face, eyes and lips as well as some tools to get that photo finish look. There is also an app available which allows you to take a photo of yourself and upload it so the app can scan colouring and recommend the best shades and products for your unique look. It's only available on the app store at the moment so I haven't been able to try it out on Android unfortunately.

Skin Perfector Foundation in Light 4 - £37.00
Firstly, I love the packaging of the Skin Perfector foundation, it's sleek, hard on the back and squishy on the front so I assume you can squeeze every last drop. It's a silicone based foundation and pretty heavy so if you're a subtle coverage kinda girl, this is  not for you. It aims to give an illusion of perfect skin, covering redness, uneven skin tones and blemishes. It also hydrates and primes the skin. I found this very thick and a little difficult to work with but I think it left my skin well covered and even. It lasted well throughout the day when I tried it at home but it's far too dark for me so I wouldn't be able to wear this out. The foundation also doesn't have an SPF so it would be great for nights out.

Intense Colour Eyeshadow Quad in Promiscuous - £25.00
The eyeshadow is small and compact with four show stopping shades, each coordinated to give the wearer beautifully, pigmented peepers. Each of the shadows are shimmery with ultra fine pearls and sparkle for a satin finish. I found the shades easy to apply and blend but there is quite a bit of fall out, nothing a quick tap of the brush won't solve though. The shadows are also enhanced with silicone to prevent creasing or settling. The shadows lasted for hours on my lids and I really liked the smokey, rose colours which is something I'd never usually use.

The Everything Mascara in Noir - £27.00
The mascara is my favourite out of the four pieces I've been trying. Available in Black or Blue (why no brown?!), it is something else. The luxurious mascara comes adapt with the latest in lash technology with an adjustable wand to give you ultimate control. Using the tip of the wand, adjust it to its full length to add length then retract to maximise volume. The formula is incredible too, coating each lash with a light yet practically magic formula to give the blackest of lashes with no clumps, flaking or smudging. You need this in your kit.

The Ultimate Lipstick in Thrust - £25.00
Lastly is Thrust, a high, intensity red. The Ultimate Lipsticks each contain pigments to deliver the perfect, bold lip with deep hydration. Its stay in place formula delivers a lasting finish and a creamy, full coverage pout with no bleeding or feathering. It's also enriched with Vitamin E, antioxidant fruit extracts and it's paraben free. The only downside for me is the packaging as for some reason the lid on mine will not stay on so I'd be dubious about taking it out in my bag for touch ups.

From what I've seen and tried, I like the collection a lot. I definitely want to try out some of the tools available as the brushes look incredible. The collection is available now exclusively to QVC with prices range between £15 to £36.

What do you think of the beauty line? What would you pick up to try for yourself?
