Newbury Ladies Day

Last Saturday, myself and my best friend Ro donned our fanciest outfits and made our way to Newbury Ladies Day. We were invited along for the day to enjoy the races, an afternoon tea picnic and a little flutter on the horses. We travelled up from Southampton and arrived at Newbury Racecourse for midday where we were met by Tanya from Zeal Buzz and shown to our picnic area.

Honesty provided the food for the picnic in pre-packed boxes full of finger sandwiches, scotch eggs and pork pies. There was also a sweet section full of fresh scones with clotted cream and jam. At the picnic I was able to meet Robyn from Phases of Robyn and her lovely mum Susie. I love being able to meet bloggers I've spoken to for ages and Robyn was such a babe! After our food and tipple of prosecco we went off to place our free £10 bet provided by Betfred.

There were flat races taking place throughout the afternoon and after a walk around and some Pimms we placed our £10 bet on the 4.10pm race which unfortunately didn't come in. I'm clueless when it comes to betting and pick horses on the names that jump out to me first.

We had premier passes for the day so we had a fabulous view of the race course and the weather was beautiful so sitting out on the grass was fab. Ro has been trying to get me to a Ladies Race Day all year and I'm glad we went because I really enjoyed myself. To finish the day of races, Will Young performed some of his well known songs before we had to jump back on the train to make our way home.

Getting all fancy, drinking prosecco and enjoying the sunshine is exactly how I like to spend my weekends! I'll be sharing my outfit for the day in a separate post so keep and eye out!
