After Lexie shared her Springtime Scents on here at the end of March I thought I'd share my own as packed my winter scents away a few weeks ago to make way for something a little fresher. I have a ridiculous amount of perfume so I always have a few bottles on the go at once. Here are five of my favourites for blossom filled, Spring days.
I've gone through bottles of Daisy since it was first released and it's the one I reach for more so than any other so I now have the 100ml size as it's technically more economical. Daisy is a favourite of many thanks to its fresh and floral scent, with notes of strawberry, violet, jasmine and vanilla infusion. It's not classically floral like some perfumes on the market and it has such a distinguished scent that I can recognise this on someone just walking past. If you don't usually like sweet scents then have a sniff next time you're in Boots as they're not usually my thing but Daisy is and always will be my favourite.
Another Marc Jacobs fragrance, Daisy Dream Forever was a gift from my sister for my birthday as I loved the original Daisy Dream. Forever was released last Spring and is a deeper, more mysterious version of Daisy Dream. The bottle is beautiful as are all the fragrances and it has notes of blackberry, grapefruit, lychee, jasmine, blue wisteria and coconut water, again really fresh and perfect for Spring.
Barbour For Her recently launched exclusively at Selfridges and I had the light, floral fragrance arrive so I could try it out for myself. It's a blend of rose, jasmine and blush peony softened with musk and sweet vanilla. Once settled on the skin, the sweet vanilla is the note that lasts the most for me and as a vanilla lover, it's become one I've reached for a lot. Barbour For Her doesn't last the longest but it's one I've loved using the last month.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt
I'd always left Jo Malone a bit confused and overwhelmed by their selection of fragrances in the past until I booked in for a consultation and really got to grips with what they sold and what I liked. Wood Sage & Sea Salt was a birthday present and one I'm ever so grateful for as it's such a beautiful scent. Fresh and light with top notes of Ambrette Seeds which exude sophistication, heart notes of sea salt which give an airy feel and base notes of sage, it immediately transports me back to bright sunny days by the sea.
Angel Eau Sucrée
Thierry Mugler released Angel Eau Sucrée last Summer, a powerful fragrance inspired by vintage confectionery and adorned with frosted glints making it look like sugar. You can subtly smell the original Angel scent but with additional notes of red berry sorbet, caramelized meringue, patchouli and vanilla helping push it into the perfect transitional fragrance. I find Angel too overpowering for so this version is perfect as it still holds true to the original but with a much more subtle fragrance.
