The Burger Gods Have Arrived

Last month, Gourmet Burger Kitchen was the latest eatery to open in Southampton's cultural quarter. Myself and some friends heading to GBK one evening to try their scrumptious looking menu full of juicy burgers and calorific milkshakes.

We went all out and made our way home to nurse our food babies after a fab evening. Gourmet Burger Kitchen has a laidback, cool atmosphere, you order everything at the bar as there's no table service but there was someone on hand most of the evening.

The menu is pretty extensive with classic beef and chicken burgers to their specialty burgers including lamb, pork and chorizo and buffalo patties. I went with a classic beef patty with american cheese and bacon while the boys went with The Mighty which includes two 6oz patties. I could've climbed it.

You order chips on top, sweet potato fries and skinny rosemary fries were our picks but the skinny rosemary fries were a bit disappointing. There are skinny fries and then there is what we ordered. Thankfully the burgers made up for it! Each of the burgers were cooked perfectly and I can't wait to head back and try something a little more adventurous.

If you're looking for somewhere fresh and new in Southampton to grab a bite to eat then make sure you head to Guildhall Square and pay the guys at GBK a visit. You'll be in burger heaven, plus you can't leave without trying the Oreo milkshake!
