I discovered some staple skincare pieces from some of the brands above last year so I thought I'd tell you about what was staying with me in 2016. I'm not going to lie, two odd years ago before this blog, my skincare routine was some make up wipes, an exfoliator and some moisturiser if I could be bothered, now I can't move for skincare products and my face is well and truly thanking me for it. I stupidly forgot to include my moisturisers in the photos but I'm using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, which I LOVE and the Antipodes Avocado Pear night cream at the moment. Both I would run out and buy again.
The Garnier Micellar cleansing water never leaves my dresser, I've gone through countless bottles and couldn't imagine not using it now. It works for so many things and it just makes my skin feel so refreshed. Admittedly it doesn't 'melt away' my make up but it does do a pretty good job. I couldn't include the facial oil I use at night because I've just run out and I'm waiting on a new one to arrive but it's the Dr Jackson 03 Face Oil, I always avoided facial oils in the past because my skin would get quite oily and I thought they would make it worse but oils actually do the opposite. I love the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate for the morning before I apply my moisturiser. It brightens my skin up so I don't look half dead, it's lightweight and it doesn't make me shiny. Win.
My bathroom staples have to include my Magnitone Lucid cleansing brush, I never understood the fad with these at first until I used one and now I wouldn't be without it. The cleansing brush buffs away dead skin, cleans pores and helps with breakouts. You really should give one a try and see for yourself. As well as the Magnitone I (try to) use the Bee Good facial exfoliator twice a week. Honey and Camelina deeply moisturise the skin while the milled lavender does the tough bit. My near enough full tube is now squashed and empty because not only do I love it, it seems the boyfriend has also been secretly using it and quite likes it too. I also swear by face masks, some of my favourites are by Lush but they don't keep for very long so I have a tube of Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask on hand.
The Espa Love Your Lips lip balm doesn't leave my dresser. I use this before I leave for work in the morning and every night before bed. It's enriched with mandarin essential oil which gives it a gorgeous scent, wild mango butter to soften and smooth, pomegranate for hydration and rosemary to help protect against the environment. It also has a handy little mirror inside for use on the go. Lastly is the Dr Pawpaw original balm, this is a multi-use product and I'd be lost without it. I use this for my lips while on the go, my cuticles for when they're a bit dry and even my hair. There are two other balms available in Peach Pink and Ultimate Red which work great for lips and cheeks. If you're yet to try them then make it the next product you buy.
As a beauty blogger I have so many other products I wouldn't be without but these won't be be leaving me in 2016. What are your skincare staples?
