Southampton is becoming quite the place for good food. With new eateries popping up weekly at the moment, there's more choice than ever but sometimes you have to stick to your old favourites, especially when your old favourites introduce a banging new menu. A couple of weeks ago Orange Rooms unveiled their new menu featuring lite bites to street food and their Dessert of the Week. Orange Rooms are known for their awesome burgers which haven't disappeared from the menu and that includes The Challenge Burger if you've got the stomach for it.
I'm one of those people that has a favourite meal in each place they eat in and at Orange Rooms my usual is the Nacho Chicken Wrap so I made sure I picked something new to try. I also bought a new loyalty card which entitles you to so many fab offers including 25% off food & coffee and 50% off lots of different drinks including their cocktails, which if you haven't tried yet, you really should! For a bargain £3 the card practically pays for itself in one use.
I went for something off the street food section, the Mongolian Lamb wrap with Sweet Potato fries. Slowed cooked lamb in oriental spices with spring onions, cucumber and hoi sin sauce. It was incredible and for £7.95 you get so much for your money. Amy tried the BBQ Pulled Squash with Sweet Potato fries and we also ordered some Potato Bombs which are another new addition. The Potato Bombs are crispy mashed potato and spring onion balls filled with your choice of Smoked Chedder, Mexicana Chilli Cheese or Brie. They don't quite fit in with the healthy eating plan but they tasted so good and worth the extra pound I've probably put on because of them.
If this hasn't persuaded you to go check out Orange Rooms for yourself, then check out their website - Orange Rooms where you'll find lots of information on their upcoming events including Orange Wednesday film nights which includes free entry and popcorn plus there will be food and drinks deal throughout the day.
