Our Recent Home Updates

I haven't done any home updates for quite some time as everything was kinda the same, I haven't even splurged in Homesense yet this year. Instead of the decorative pieces I like to buy such as lanterns and candles we've concentrated on the big stuff so far this year...

With a baby on the way there were a few things we needed, things we've been putting off in favour of weekends away and late dinners and now was the time to knuckle down and actually get round to buying them. Our two main focus points were the bedroom and the living room.

Our current mattress was two years old but needed replacing as it just wasn't as comfortable anymore and with sleepless nights in the future, we wanted to at least be comfortable. The Eve Mattress is known as the comfiest mattress in the world so we were pretty much sold from the offset. It arrived via courier in a box and all we had to do was un-box it and let it breathe. Before we knew it, we were faced with our brand new kingsize mattress!

The mattress is separated into three foam layers, Contouring Memory Foam, Breathable Cooling Layer and a Supportive Base Layer all covered by a Plush Fabric Cover. It's extremely well made and we both have the best nights sleep on it. You can trial the Eve mattress for 100 nights but I don't think you'll need that long to decide at all, you'll never want to leave your bed again. Now I just need to add the pillows!

Rooi Homeware
A new mattress calls for new bedding and that is where Rooi come in. Home of Luxury & Designer homeware, I picked out the Aria Grey Duvet set. Made from polycotton, the elegant set features a lace trim along the duvet and pillow cases. As soon as the new mattress was ready, the new bedding was put on ready for a super luxurious first nights sleep. It's soft, cosy and fits in perfectly with our neutral colour scheme.

We've also welcomed our new sofa, which I am very happy about! Our new corner sofa from DFS is actually called Arran funnily enough. We had already walked around half the showroom when I spotted this one, fell backwards and declared it to be the one, for my sister to laugh and then tell me its collection name. We were sold and now I don't have to worry about not being able to get up when I'm really pregnant. I've christened the corner and I'm finding it really difficult to leave it.

We now have nursery bits to concentrate which is exciting, where do we start?!
